The Kingdom of God is close at hand

Reflections on the Sunday Readings for the Year of Mark.

The reflections in this book are based primarily on the gospel readings for the Sundays of the liturgical year for Cycle B, the Year of Mark, but they also draw upon the other two readings.

Many people feel drawn to basing their prayer on the Scriptures, in particular the gospels. In many parishes, a group of parishioners meet every week to pray over the gospel reading of the following Sunday in the Lectio Divina style. It is hoped that these reflections will help people of faith to listen to the word of the Lord, as the Church puts it before us in the Sunday readings for Cycle B of the liturgical year. Priests and deacons may find them a resource for preaching.
